Frequently Asked Questions

There is no such thing as a stupid question!

We welcome all questions regarding solar, our services, and renewable energy. We are here to help!

Solar panels harness the power of the sun to generate electricity. This power can then be used for anything electrical in the property, whether that be your TV, Electric Car Charger or Washing Machine.

In most cases definitely! as long as you have roof space, you can have a solar system. Solar panels perform best if they are on a south facing roof but can be placed on any roof as long as the sun can reach it. We can take a quick look at your property using our design software and within minutes you will know how many panels will fit on your roof.

This will all depend on the location of the equipment. We have to get a cable from the solar panels to an inverter and then to your fuseboard. This is usually done externally using conduit in a colour of your choice but we will always consult you to make sure it is as least invasive as possible.

There are a few factors that dictate if a battery is needed. These include, your lifestyle, consumption, system size and budget. In a normal solar system, any energy you don’t use from the solar panels will automatically be sent back to the national grid (for up to 7.5p/kWh) whereas if you store the energy you can use it when you would have paid 4-5 times that amount for the same kWh, so in most cases a battery is advisable.

This depends on a number of factors including system size, consumption, current electricity price and whether you have a battery or not. As a general rule of thumb, if you can fit the size system you require on your roof, we aim for an electricity bill offset of 50% with just solar panels and 80% with solar panels with a battery.

Yes, we install a range of different systems including air source heat pumps, solar assisted heat pumps and Solar PV immersion controllers that can reduce your heating needs.
